PxP Art Contest 2022
Pursuit of Power
my Web-Comic has been running for over a year now, so I finally decided to push this project to the next level by hosting an entire Art Contest around it.
Entering Conditions:
Running till the 31st of August 2022, you may submit either Fan-art, or illustrated Short-Stories.
It can be of the existing characters or settings, but I’ll also encourage people to create their own OCs and places, as long as they fit within the established universe and time period.
Entries can be submitted to the Pusuit-of-Power Group on DeviantArt, or with the #PxPCon2022 Tag on twitter.
I won’t accept “pure” Literature submissions. If you do write a story it may be either in Comic or Picturebook format.
You may work as a team, but if you win, the prize will be split.
Fitting into the canon is a winning condition, so I encourage you to read my comic and Lore.
Prizes can be paid out in either money or Node-Commissions.
1st Place: A 300-minute commission, or 150$ in cash
2nd Place: A 240-minute commission, or 120$ in cash
3rd Place: A 180-minute commission, or 90$ in cash
4th Place: A 120-minute commission, or 60$ in cash
5th Place: A 60-minute commission, or 30$ in cash

Do you have specific questions that could not be answered by my Comic? I will try to summarise some points in this post, but also feel free to ask further questions in the comments below!
World Design:
The world of PxP is a post-postapocalyptic medieval-style fantasy realm. The art of Magic was lost for centuries and has been re-emerging within the last few decades. “High-Level” Spellcasters do not yet exist.
Magic is inherently linked with Ectoplasm. A spiritual Slime that is present within all living as well as undead creatures. The main applications of Magic are:
Kinesis: Creating movement.
Thermal: Changing temperature.
Prismatic: Creating light and colour
Static: Creating electric charge.
and Transmutation: Inflicting physical changes.
Conjuration and Evocation are not a concept within this world. There is only one Plane of Existence and all energy and required materials need to be present with the caster. Magic Tomes and runic circles are lost technologies; Not naturally developed, but theoretically possible.
Most people are born with a unique magic ability that manifests as “Talent”. Though some of these are more complex than people tend to understand, given the right instructions all of these abilities can be learned and performed by capable spellcasters.
Factions:
Oroboros State Magicians
The only Legal form of Spellcaster. Oroboros is a millitary academy that trains and prepares magician for the art of war, first and foremost. Magicians are treated with caution, therefore any State magician is also equiped with a specal collar (made of Voidsteel), capable of draining their mana, if they ever were to turn rogue.
Adventurers
Self-Explanatory. Your classic pile of DnD randos, up for fighting, looting and adventuring. Magic Abilities are common. However to get legal Spellcasting permitted you still need to get a license (also potentially getting you a collar if you are too powerful). Rogue Witches
Any Magic User from a certain power level upwards who operates without a magic license is automatically classified as a Witch. The Original Witches were once taught by Old Lady Whisperwind, an evil, body-snatching Hag, and only living relic from “The Old World”.
Witch Hunters
The sister branch of Oroboros. Well-trained and equipped warriors with the purpose of hunting and capturing criminal entities in the name of order. The first Witches were a terror upon the land and required much hardship and sacrifices to defeat. Nowadays Mana-Drain has become the most efficient way of defeating Rogue Spellcasters. This is however a diffcult technique, as it requires the use of Voidsteel, a rare (and potentially radioactive) material.
Greywater Titanforge A secret organization, devoted to the scientific research and development of Magic. Human Experiments and highly unethical treatment of test subjects are commonplace. While the Titanforge also gains Government funding, it operates entirely separately from Oroboros and not to be percecuted by Witch Hunters.
Royal Houses
Truth be told: I have not written down much about the Land’s Government. going by the theme of my story, it is somewhat corrupt and obviously in pursuit of power. having the lawful Oroboros as a front, while also funding sinister Titanforge projects in the background.
But at the end of the day, your OC does not have to strictly align with any of these Factions to be viable, as long as they fit into the world.

kaisai134 started the prep phase for his annual Valentines Event. For the next week, you have the opportunity to request a number of artists to create Valentine-themed art for certain characters. A copy of the guidelines is listed below.
How to participate:
Check the Participation Sheet to see which creator is open and what they will and will not do.
Depending on the Creator, they will accept the Valentine by either dA Notes or Twitter Quote Tweet.
If the Creator is using dA Notes:
Go to the “Notes’ section of deviantArt.
Put the ‘dA Nickname’ of the artist in the “To:” section.
For the Subject put: “Ichika the Cupid is Here!!”
Copy and paste the following message into the body replacing the blanks with the name of the artist and the character she is visiting.

Node is moving places
YO! what a year it has been. I started with breaching 1k Watchers and ended it by breaking 3k. So I'd like to say thank you to everyone who decided to join the audience of my Gallery. However, this is not the only thing that has changed. I am also actually changing locations. New House, New Workspace. (and a lot of work to get everything in order)
So for the time being I will close my gates for larger commissions.
I will still hold my Live Streams to do Speed-Paintings, twice per week; And will still work on my monthly Web-Comic; And my project Donation Jars will also remain open.
This will only affect new Multi-Day Commissions.
If you already are on my waiting list, I will still get to you within this month, but otherwise I need to reserve the time to do housework.
